"Tunisia is called to promote the quality of tourist services and diversify a typically Tunisian product without seeking to attract more tourists," underlined Federal Secretary of State in the German Ministry in charge of Economic Co-operation and Development Gudrun Kopp.

She indicated in a statement to TAP news agency, on the fringes of the workshop on integration of women in the tourism sector, held Tuesday in Hammamet, that "the all inclusive formula adopted by most of the hotels in Tunisia does not contribute to the promotion of Tunisian tourism."

The German official specified that the German tourist needs time to restore confidence in Tunisia as a tourist destination, especially that the drop of the German tourist flow is due to the lack of security in the country.

Besides, this workshop, organised as part of the co-operation between the public and the private sector (the German Ministry of Economic Co-operation and Development and the German Development Agency GTZ) will examine the possibility to establish programmes and training workshops for women working in the tourist field to energise their aptitudes and support the structures entrusted with integrating women in this sector.

On this occasion, a presentation was made of "the economic integration project of women in the Middle East and North Africa Zone by Monia Kastli co-ordinator of this project."

This five-year project (2012-2016) aims to promote services and tourist products by means of integrating women in this sector.
