The United Nations Educational and Scientific Organisation (UNESCO) and its partners are calling for entries from various qualified organisations for its 2013 Global Alliance on Media and Gender forum.

This call is connected to the Global Forum on Media and Gender (GFMG).The forum will be pioneering global events that will to address gender equality and women's empowerment in and through the media.

Entries are for organizations involved in gender and media related activities or gender equality issues, whether online or off line, Non-governmental organisations, community based organisations, association, network, training or academic institution, media organization, media self-regulatory body, public or private entity, and research institution .

The forum intends to foster debate, provide training, and encourage the sharing of experiences. It will be held in different sessions that will be informed by the consensus of all stakeholders.

A major component of the forum will be the establishment of a Global Alliance on Media and Gender which will coordinate a systematic follow-up to one of the critical areas of concern of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action (BDPA), "Women and the Media Diagnosis.

The forum is scheduled to take place from December 2 to 4, 2013, in Thailand, Bangkok. A series of global online debate that will hold in August, 2013 will be launched to explore the what, how, who, when, where and why of the proposed alliance.
