Women should be used more often to mediate disputes, because they can sometimes be more effective.

That may not be something you often hear, but that’s what Uganda’s Vice-President Edward Kiwanuka Ssekandi believes.

He hopes, given time that the African Union can play a greater role in helping mediate disputes in the region.
