The secretary of State for Family and Women Promotion, Ana Paula Neto, Tuesday in Luanda appealed to all actors of the civil society and parents to engage more to reduce gender violence, particularly domestic violence in the country.

The official, who was speaking at the opening of the workshop on Violence in Gender, as part of "March Women " programme, spoke out of the need for the society to adopt a stronger commitment to reverse the current situation.

She also said that the degradation of families and society values based on bad behavior of some members in exacerbated machismo acts and the ignorance of the law keeps being the great concern of the local government.

Ana Paula Neto said that with the approval of the concerned law on domestic violence and its regulation as legal instrument has become essential to achieve the goals of a balanced family and society with behavioral standards.

According to the official, children and youths must feel that they belong to a family which is the base of society that corresponds to typical concepts of African associations.
