Luanda - Angolan women have not yet reached 50 percent in the decision-making bodies, as established by Southern African Development Community (SADC).

 

This was said Thursday by the outgoing secretary general of the ruling MPLA party's women wing (OMA), Luzia Inglês Van-Dúnem "Inga".

The official was speaking at a ceremony aimed to present the report project of the National Committee at the 6th Ordinary Congress of OMA.

She recognised that efforts have been in progress to ensure prominent positions for women in Angolan society, especially in politics, judiciary, economy, sports, culture and various sectors of the country's activity.

On the OMA's contribution to the struggle for emancipation, Luzia Inglês stressed that the organisation she leads attended the 58th and 59th Session of the United Nations on Social and Legal condition of the woman.

According to her, the objective is to assess the degree of compliance with the Millennium goal till 2025 and the implementation Beijing + 20 mechanisms

As for various most prominent activities in the past five years, the official pointed out the launch of the magazine "Revista Heroinas" in its 4th edition aimed at publicising the activities undertaken by the organisation.
