The Minister of Social Welfare and Security, Ustaza Amira Al-fadil, has presented Sudan address at the meetings of the committee on women status at the United Nations.

In her address, the minister pointed to the great efforts being exerted by Sudan to realize peace and stability through its signing to the peace agreement, holding of the elections and the referendum on the future of South Sudan and establishment of Darfur Regional Authority.

She also referred to the implementation of the national project for rural women development all over the country toward enhancement of the women conditions and emphasizing their role for realizing food security and combating poverty and implementing policies.

The minister pointed to implementation of the social support project for the much poor families which is targeting 500,000 families country-wide.

She also pointed to political gains provided for women and assignment of 25% of the Parliament seats for women, besides the effective participation of the Sudanese women in the economic activities.

She underscored the importance of the writing off of Sudan foreign debts for boosting the development process in the country, stressing that Sudan door is open for investment
