The situation of the Kiang Kaiaf market is reported to be deplorable needing refurbishment if the women are to utilise the market on a daily basis. This reporter gathered this information from the market women. According to Fatoumata Fofana, a Market woman, for almost 3 years now, no repairs have been done on their Market.

She said a lot of destruction caused during the rainy season has made it impossible for them to sell at the Market. She appeals to the authorities to take action on this issue, because she said they suffer a lot. She said that they now contribute their own finance to rebuild the poor Market which is far from enough to solve the problem. Isatou Sonko, resident of Kaiaf and a Market vendor pointed out that they don't have any support to rebuild their Market. Isatou saidthey finally decided on calling Jaliba to a show to raise funds in order to rebuild their poor market.

She continued to appealto the stakeholders to give them support on this issue, so that they could be able to help themselves by earning extra income to survive on. She mentioned a Mr. Sanna fatty who supports them in every activity that they are doing regarding their Market. She said during the raining season they cultivate rice, but the heavy rains and the birds destroyed their farms. She said that the stakeholders and the Non Governmental Organizations (NGOs) should try and help them, because they are in need of their support for their survival and the rebuilding of their poor Market. She finally added that she is appealing to the authorities to support them.

According to Sanna Fatty, resident of Kaiaf, a farmer, the women in Kaiaf lack support with regards to their Market. He said the people are poor and therefore cannot rebuild the Market on their own. He said that they are willing to add their quota to ensure that their Market is renovated for people to use it to increase their income. He said that their survival is hard and they find it difficult to have enough food to eat. He then added that he is appealing to the general public especially the government to be aware of their situation so that they could be given the needed support.
