A gender activist has implored government to provide strategic assistance to women as key players in economic development.

Women for Change Executive Director, Emily Sikazwe says women unlike their male counterparts facilitate economic progression through basic means.

Ms Sikazwe says women are special players in the development of the country although lack an environment to progress in.

She explains that provision of resources through the budget calls for engendering to serve the best of interest of the female folk.

Ms Sikazwe was speaking at a stakeholders meeting discussing the promotion of women economic empowerment through gender responsive trade agreements.
